Why choose me as your wedding photographer for your special day?

Photography is my passion. I have over 30 years of photography experience and my wife thinks my cameras are permanently attached to me. Even when I’m not ‘working’, I’m capturing our two Golden Retrievers, wildlife and landscapes.

I thrive on capturing beautiful, emotional moments. From a proud father seeing his daughter in her wedding dress, a couple’s first kiss, the love they have for each other, the laughter on people’s faces from the best man’s humorous stories to young flower girls and page boys pulling faces. I see emotion everywhere I look.

My style of wedding photography leans towards documentary/lifestyle with lots of fun and a splash of creativity. For the majority of the time you won’t know I’m there. As your wedding photographer, I'll be capturing moments as they happen whilst blending into the background.

This is your day and you’ll want to enjoy it with your family and friends.

I’ll ensure I capture your requested group photos and only take you away from your wedding party to capture your own special photos but be prepared to be whisked away if there’s a dramatic sunset as I’m always looking for that ‘extra special’ photo for you!

And don't worry about the weather! We can dance in the rain, fly kites in the wind and build snowmen in the snow!

Once you book me you can forget about the stress and worry of the photography. I plan and prepare by researching and visiting your venue (if it is new to me) and I will speak with your wedding planner/organiser in advance of your wedding day. I’ll meet with you or we can have a zoom call to go through the timings and details of your special day and all your requirements and expectations. I’ll always be available for you to ask any questions, no matter how trivial they may seem to you. I’m here to put your mind at rest and all consultations are free. Contact me.

A pre-wedding photoshoot is included with your Wedding Photography Collection to offer posing suggestions and help you relax in front of the camera ahead of your big day.

Special Guests Coming to Your Wedding?

Do you have a pet and are they coming to your wedding?

It’s becoming more popular for your pet to be there on your big day and why not? They are part of your family. If they are coming just for the ceremony or all day, I’m more than happy to capture them.

For your total piece of mind, Derek Henderson Photography is fully insured and I am DBS checked. As a professional wedding photographer, I always carry back up cameras, equipment, etc.

Wedding Collections

You can choose Wedding Collections starting from only £395 for 2 hours coverage of the ceremony and photos immediately after. I also provide half and full day coverage. Full details are on my PRICES page.
